In the First Champion Martial Arts Academy Junior Karate Championship, Prashana Dhakal for women and Nischal Khadka for men were awarded the best players on Saturday. They both received 150 USD prize.
In the championship organized by the Champion Martial Arts Academy, Ichungu Dojo’s became the team, Champion. The host Champion Martial Arts Academy came Second and Manakamana Dojo came third. More than 300 players from 13 teams participated in the championship.
Renisha Rimal of Ichung and Niraj Basnet of the same dojo won the women’s singles kata. On the women’s side, Rosli Thapa, of Champion Martial Arts Academy in 15 kg, Prasha Dhakal of Manmaiju Dojo in 20 kg, Rasika Pudasaini, of Champion Martial Arts Academy in 25 kg, Vinita Kunwar of Mankamana Dojo in 30 kg, Sonam Sherpa of Ichung in 45 kg have won.
In women’s 55 kg, Champion Martial Arts Academy’s Nima Tamang, 35 kg Modan School’s Alisha Gurung, Mankamana’s Samiksha Ranamar in 40 kg weight group and VS Niketan’s Unika Rai in open weight group stood first.
Nischal Khadka of VS Niketan in 20 kg, Gaurav Subedi of Modan in 25 kg, David Rana magar of Manakamana in 30 kg, Savir Shrestha of Ichang in 55 kg, Anil Baral of Champion in 60 kg came first. Nirajan Basnet of Ichanguki won in 45 kg, Ayush Gajurel of Manmaiju won in 35 kg.
President of Nepal Karate Federation Yuvraj Lama, General Secretary Dawa Lama distributed prizes to the winners. On the same occasion, senior sports journalist Ajay Phuyal was honored by Champion Martial Art Academy. Federation President Lama handed over the certificate of honor to Phuyal.
